Technical Sheet |
Deeper red to the rim with a nose of red and black fruits, some freshly milled black pepper, sweet and ripe, leading to a saline, mineral palate of tasty black fruits with a note of dark chocolate and spiced with a distant grilled note and a fine tannic structure behind, tighter with more volume on the finish. The Boillot name appears in many forms in both the Côte de Beaune and the Côte de Nuits; the family history is complicated but at least friendly, which is not always the case in Burgundy. Pierre Boillot inherited his Gevrey vineyards from his father’s side of the family – Domaine Lucien Boillot – and his Volnay, Pommard and Puligny vineyards from his grandfather, Henri Boillot. He worked with his cousin Jean-Marc Boillot on his eponymous domaine until he broke away in 2003 to reinvigorate the Domaine Lucien Boillot name.
