The second wine of Clos Cantenac, Petit Cantenac comes from the father-daughter team of Martin and Charlotte Krajewski, with Charlotte now heading up the winemaking at both of their Right Bank properties. Charlotte is quickly becoming known for making incredibly pure, vibrant wines which are all about their terroir.

Very pretty colour, deep purple velvet, not opaque with lovely ripe, sweet black fruit on the nose, spiced, creamy red fruit, very expressive. On the palate, sweet brambly fruit, berries and cherries, attractive, creamy and fresh, bright with some blue fruit notes too. Medium weight with ripe supporting tannins this is easy and floral. Charlotte has used 30% new oak here, compared the normal 40%, to respect the vintage. Nicely done.
