Technical Sheet |
95% Cabernet Sauvignon, 5% Petit Verdot
Intensely deep, dense in colour with a very overt, alluring nose of red and black fruits, spiced and rich with a herbal back note, leading to a palate of rich black fruits underscored by supple tannins, again a herbal note yet rich and velvety too with a hint of anise behind. Deliciously approachable but with all the ingredients to age gracefully. Drink 2017 to 2027

Dominus Estate in Yountville, California, was established in 1983 by Bordeaux royalty, Christian Moueix, son of J-P Moueix (think Trotanoy, Hosanna, La Fleur-Pétrus among onthers). Situated on the famed Napanook vineyard, it was, in the 1940’s and 1950’s, the source of fruit for some of the finest Napa Valley wines. Today, this vineyard produces three wines: Dominus, its flagship, Napanook, and Othello. Long considered to be the second wine of Dominus, Napanook is in fact a wine in its own right, coming from separate plots in the Napanook vineyard.
