Technical Sheet |
Premier Grand Cru Classé Château Bélair-Monange sits on a commanding site, high on the Saint Emilion plateau, alongside Ausone, and is home to Edouard Moueix and his family. Formerly known as Château Bélair, the Monange addition honours Edouard’s great grandmother – Adèle Monange – mother of Jean-Pierre Moueix who was, of course, famous for his ownership of the great Château Pétrus and for founding the eponymous Libourne-based négociant business. Annonce de Bélair is the second wine of the estate, its first vintage was 2014 and it enjoys the same attention as the grand vin in both vineyard and cellar.

100% Merlot
A nose of creamed, juicy black fruit, rich and sweet, really intense, ripe and gorgeous, leading to a palate of deliciously intense black fruits, rich and tarry, with some sweet oak notes behind, really alluring with plentiful supple tannins and refreshing acidity – not a blockbuster but oh so pretty.
Drink 2021 - 2028+
Lisa Perrotti-Brown MW of Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate awarded 2017 Bélair-Monange 96-98 points “... rich and seductive with oodles of freshness and layers of floral and spice notions, finishing long”.
“It’s hard to believe that this is a second wine”
