Since the younger generation took over at Domaine Truchet, they have implemented substantial changes, firstly by converting the vineyards into organic viticulture – certified from this vintage – and now by moving from the family cellar in Premeaux Prissey into a purpose-built winery just down the road where, finally, they have oodles of space to manage each cuvée as it requires.

60 year old vines on two different soils, one on the lower slope of clay, the other on the flint (chailles) and limestone upper slope; just 80 ares here, with 17 of them uprooted after this harvest. Bright ruby red in colour with a brambly fresh nose, herby with very pure Pinot notes, spice. Lovely red fruit on the palate, brambly and fresh, herby, very pretty and floral, with a gorgeous tension and light tannins all the way to a juicy, fruity finish.
