Technical Sheet |
A mix of various lieux dits across the appellation. Densely coloured to the rim with a massive nose of spiced black fruits, super-intense, grilled yet racy, with notes of logan- and mulberry, super ripe and super spiced, perfumed, musky, with a distant note of high quality leather. Dense again on the plate, perfumed and musky, savoury, spiced, rich and long, really intense and clearly a step up from the Marsannays, elegant rather than brute power, with an incredibly long finish which goes on and on. Fabulous wine. Drink 2027 - 2033+

The Domaine has 15 hectares of vines in total, split almost evenly between the communes of Gevrey Chambertin and Marsannay, predominantly planted to Pinot Noir with small amounts of Chardonnay, Pinot Blanc and, from 2022, Aligoté. Farming here combines organic and biodynamic principles (particularly with regard for lunar phases for vineyard work and cellar operations) but the Domaine is certified for neither – Pierre-Jean Roty says they follow what they know works rather than adopting new trends.
