Technical Sheet |
Not a real monopole but a de facto one as the only other grower with a few rows of vines here blends them into his villages wine. Slightly paler in colour with a nose of tight stalky dark fruit, very restrained but with some distant creamed cherry notes. On the palate, dense dark fruits are spiced and rich yet racy and fresh at the same time, with nicely supple tannins behind the rich red cherry and black fruit with spice and black pepper on the juicy finish, the
tannins only showing themselves right at the end. Deceptively approachable already. Drink 2025 - 2029

The Domaine has 15 hectares of vines in total, split almost evenly between the communes of Gevrey Chambertin and Marsannay, predominantly planted to Pinot Noir with small amounts of Chardonnay, Pinot Blanc and, from 2022, Aligoté. Farming here combines organic and biodynamic principles (particularly with regard for lunar phases for vineyard work and cellar operations) but the Domaine is certified for neither – Pierre-Jean Roty says they follow what they know works rather than adopting new trends.
