We were introduced to Rijk's Wine Estate by Matt Krone, the winemaker at Aristea, and fell in love with their Pinotage and Chenin ranges on first taste. When we discovered that their mid-range of wines is called Private Cellar, it seemed like a marriage made in heaven. Don't miss these award-winning wines from Tulbagh - they sell through incredibly quickly.

Aged in 60% French and 40% American barrels, of which 40% were new, with the balance in one and two year old barrels. Floral and layered with black fruits on the nose, the palate is dense and rich, focused on bright fruits with supple if present tannins and a long finish – having tasted some older vintages of this, we highly recommend drinking some now and keeping some for a later date.
