On the western edge of Pomerol, close to Château Plince, Bourgneuf's soils are dominated by clay with a small amount of gravel, giving them some of the warmest soils in the appellation.

A nose of savoury, tight black fruits and some grilled notes behind, fresh; on the palate huge smooth black fruits on entry, vibrant and more substantial than the others, very slightly reduced at this stage with lovely grilled toasty notes behind that, and big blackcurrant fruit - but definitely not opulent and needs time to show its true potential.
