Fontaine Gagnard's Chassagne Montrachet Rouge comes from a tiny 1.5 hectares of vines, and sees 20% new wood. No whole bunch fermentation here, but Céline Fontaine adds some stalks back into the fermentation to add some texture.

From six different parcels lying to the south of Chassagne and down towards Santenay; 20% new oak. Bright red with juicy, plummy spiced dark fruits, almost a cedar note with black cherry behind. Tighter on the palate which bursts with lovely dark berries, black cherry again, really mouth-watering with fine tannins behind, refined and weightier with a really long, spiced, linear finish – a complete contrast to the come-hither nose! This will benefit from a few years ageing. Drink 2026 - 2029
