We have always been huge fans of Château Grand Puy Lacoste and last year we bought record volumes for you. In 2020, the wine is as good as ever, sitting firmly in our top recommendations. As Nicola says, it is "intense but not extrovert" - just exactly what a Bordeaux lover wants from Pauillac.

Dense purple black right to the rim with a nose of sweet black fruits, very primary and spiced, with a lightly grilled note behind the gorgeously rich, intense, dusty black skinned fruits. On the palate lovely spice, with cool black fruits, intense but not extrovert, with a nice bite of acidity, and very distant grilled notes, toasty, leading to a finish which is initially subtle, with red fruits and supple tannins, and then powers through with vibrantly spiced berry fruit, incredibly fresh and incredibly long.
