The style of Beaujolais is dictated to a greater or lesser extent, by the pink granite content of the soils, coming from a long-extinct volcano, and Laurent Savoye has plenty of it in his vineyards. These granite soils push Gamay to its best expression, giving the wines mouth-watering minerality.
