Padthaway lies 180 miles south of Adelaide in the South Australia wine growing region and Chardonnay is seen as the region's signature variety, perfectly suited to its relatively cool climate moderated by ocean breezes. At Farmer's Leap, biodiversity and sustainability are cornerstones of the Longbottom family’s farming philosophy – they are members of Sustainable Winegrowing Australia – and their vineyards provide winemaker Renae Hirsch with top quality fruit that really showcases the area. Renae oversees the winemaking from vineyard to bottle and whilst she would perhaps prefer to remain under the radar, her star is brightly reflected in an impressive collection of trophies… a winemaker to watch.

Refreshingly pale with lovely buttery white fruit on the nose, a hint of hazelnut behind, a light touch of oak and just a hint of a warmer climate, despite its citrussy, lime infused, racy finish. A very grown up wine for the price.
