Bernhard Ott has around 40 hectares of vines across more than 80 different parcels, all farmed biodynamically, and his focus is squarely on Grüner Veltliner. The Am Berg is fermented in stainless steel and aged on lees for a few months to give additional depth.

Bernhard Ott's Grüner Veltliner is a glorious wine with delicious white fruits – white pear, peach – on the nose, leafy and fresh on the palate becoming more spicy now and with a zip of minerality on the finish. As Jancis Robinson MW says, a good Grüner Veltliner "has all the refreshment, food-friendliness and ability to age of a fine Riesling but with a little more weight on the mid palate and plays around more in the vegetable/pickle space than the floral/mineral one."
