Father and daughter team Martin and Charlotte Krajewski now own and run two Right Bank properties, scarcely 5km away from each other, but far enough that one falls into St Emilion territory, and the other, Pomerol. During harvest, their pickers might pass through the same block several times to ensure that grapes are brought in at optimum ripeness and it's this attention to detal that makes Clos Cantenac stand out from the crowd.

100% Merlot this is deep red black with intense, plummy, dark fruit on the nose, spiced and musky, really alluring with some mineral, almost stony notes yet perfumed too. Big dense black fruit on the palate with supple tannins, resolving now, spiced and really rich. This is just coming into its drinking window now and can be enjoyed until 2037.
