Technical Sheet |
From Pierre-Jean’s late brother Philippe Roty’s vines in the deliciously named Queue de Hareng vineyard. Deep red black with a nose of gorgeous black cherry fruit, spiced and intense, with a delicious red and black berry fruited palate, incredibly focused and concentrated, perfumed and going to a lovely long finish. As ever, this punches way above the appellation’s weight. Drink 2024 - 2030

The Domaine has 15 hectares of vines in total, split almost evenly between the communes of Gevrey Chambertin and Marsannay, predominantly planted to Pinot Noir with small amounts of Chardonnay and Pinot Blanc. Farming here combines organic and biodynamic principles (particularly with regard for lunar phases for vineyard work and cellar operations) but the Domaine is certified for neither – Pierre-Jean Roty says they follow what they know works rather than adopting new trends.
