The name Thienpont is a big one in Bordeaux, with various branches of the same family; one side owns Le Pin, another Vieux Château Certan, while yet another runs a successful négociant business, whose family property is Clos Fontaine, in the Côte de Francs, north of Castillon. This is an area that is frequently overlooked but a source of some seriously good wines.
