Deep purple red, with a nose of plummy red fruit, intense, going to a palate of ripe sweet red fleshy fruits, bright and sweet, light tannins, juicy and easy, floral and with lovely intensity of fruit, sweet and toasty to the finish, really lovely and so easy with light tannins. This will give lots of pleasure. Drink 2024-2032

Château Angludet (Margaux) is owned by the Sichel family and run by Ben Sichel, who went down the route of biodynamics in 2017, although tragically no wine was produced that year thanks to frost damage. 2020 wasn’t quite as challenging but yields remained low because of difficult flowering and the following drought, and in 2021 they have once again been badly frost damaged, so stocking up on the 2020 is highly recommended for Angludet fans! In 2019, Ben introduced amphorae to the cellar bringing greater freshness and subtlety to the wines, allowing the fruit to be fully expressed without the cover-up of oak; in 2020 30% of the wine was aged in clay amphorae, with the balance aged traditionally in barrel. This is fabulously polished and stylish.
